Our providers are all specialized in pediatrics and have extensive experience treating children.

Richard McGill, DO, FAAP

Dr. Richard McGill is a board certified pediatrician with over 25 years of experience in both primary care, newborn, hospital, and emergency medicine. His goals for opening KidsFirst Children's Urgent Care is to reduce fees associated with ERs and after-hour care visits while providing specialized pediatric care.

Dr. McGill is originally from Knoxville, TN but has been in upper east TN for the last 25 years. He was the owner of KidsFirst Pediatrics in Greeneville, TN for 17 years. He is currently a faculty member at LMU's DeBusck College of Osteopathic Medicine. In his free time you will find him working on the farm or spending time with his 4 kids.

Logan Thomas, CPNP-PC

Logan is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner who graduated from ETSU and Tennessee Tech. Before becoming a PNP, she worked as and Registered Nurse in multiple pediatric settings, including the PICU and the Pediatric ER.

Logan is from the Johnson City area and looks forward to being able to serve the community she calls home! In her free time, she enjoys being active with her husband, their two kids and their fur baby, Moose. She is also an active member of Risen Life Fellowship and loves volunteering with the nursery and hospitality team.

Abigail Nieman, CPNP-PC

Abby is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner who attended the University of Tennessee Knoxville for nursing school and then completed her Nurse Practitioner education at Vanderbilt University in 2018. Her previous practice experience includes Pediatric Gastroenterology and Pediatric Allergy, Immunology and Asthma. Before becoming a PNP, she worked as and Registered Nurse in the pediatric primary care setting.

Abby is originally from Knoxville and relocated to the area for her Husbands job with Young Life. In her free time she enjoys reading a good book, doing all things active/outdoors and spending time with her husband and three kids. She is an active member of Redeemer Community Church in Johnson City and dedicates her free time to volunteering with Young Life.

Sarah Thompson, CPNP-PC

Sarah is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner who attended Baylor University in Dallas, Texas for nursing school then King University for her Pediatric Nurse Practitioner education. She also currently works as a Newborn Nursery NP in our local community hospitals. Before becoming a PNP, she worked many years as a Registered Nurse at Niswonger Children's Hospital. 


Sarah is from the Johnson City area and is excited to serve her home town community. In her free time she enjoys reading, spending time with her family, with her husband and their two dogs. Her and her husband are expecting their first child this spring! She attends Calvary church where she is an active member and volunteers with their medical team and children's services team. 

Sharla Adkins, FNP

Sharla is a Family Nurse Practitioner with over 13 years of combined experience in pediatric emergency medicine, primary care and urgent care. 

She is originally from Knoxville, TN and relocated here over 25 years ago. She now calls Gray home. She and her husband have 4 Adult children and one precious grand-daughter. They raise beef cattle and will reside on their Farm in Sulfur Springs soon. 

Sharla loves to spend time with her family camping, playing games, and getting as much time with them as possible. She is passionate about caring for pediatric patients and their families.
